About

This place is for me to express myself in ways that I don't in my other blogs. I post cyberpunk, dieselpunk, horror, goth, true crime, art, video games and general awesomeness. About me: I am an aspiring writer from Flint, Michigan. I am currently living in Denver, Colorado with my fiancee and nutty cat. I write mostly science fiction and horror, with some fantasy thrown in on occasion. I am writing a comic book at the moment, and my fiancee has agreed to draw it. I play video games, mostly shooters, and puzzle games, but I will try anything, and have weird eclectic tastes. I will also post about racism, sexism, homophobia, sizeism, transphobia, and classism. I am not an apologist and readily admit and always try to check my privilege. I am LGBTQ+ positive, a BBW bisexual liberal libertarian, and an agnostic. If any of the above upsets you, too bad. Also, any pictures I post are not mine unless specified. I will try to give credit for photos/graphics when I can. Enjoy!

Numbers stations are mysterious shortwave radio channels of indiscernible origin that exist in countries all across the world and have been reported since World War 1. They are identifiable by the unusual contents of their broadcasts: seemingly random sequences of numbers, words, letters, tunes, and Morse code, usually spoken by artificially generated voices of women and children.
The most common theory regarding the purpose of these bizarre stations is that they’re used by governments the world over to secretly transmit encrypted commands and messages to spies. That said, even though numbers stations have been discovered all over the globe and in any number of different languages, no government has ever officially acknowledged their existence. While the espionage theory is a logical one, with no official confirmation of their purpose the jury is still out.
One particularly odd station, UVB-76, has existed since the late 1970s and has broadcast a simple, repetitive buzzing tone 24 hours a day ever since. On very rare occasions, however, listeners have reported a Russian voice interrupting the buzz to read out sequences of numbers and words, always in a consistent format — this happened once in 1997, once in 2002, once in 2006, 56 times in 2010, and 14 in 2011. As with all numbers stations, its true purpose is and will probably remain unknown, but the increase in frequency of whatever it’s doing is certainly odd.
You can listen to well over 100 recordings of numbers stations for free on archive.org but be forewarned that they’re all kind of, well, eerie. They feel like something you shouldn’t be listening to, which stands to reason since apparently you’re not supposed to know they exist.

I’m the biggest skeptic when it comes to anything “conspiracy” related, and while I still don’t believe the broadcasts are transmitting anything top secret…I listened to a few of the recordings and damn they’re eerie as hell.

Just listened to a few of these. Definitely creepy

Number stations motherfuckers. Creepiest shit in existence.

This is an old family picture.
My family does not support my being in the LGBTQIA community. They actually are opposed to it. They tell me every day that its disgusting and that it’s sinful and I’ll go to hell for liking women. I moved out when I was seventeen, and in January I moved back in with them because I couldn’t handle everything that was going on. Every day one of my five siblings tells me to go back to Minnesota. My little brother Charlie (the black baby in the picture) is now 8 and he constantly physically attacks me and tells me that I’m not his sister and to leave. My other siblings make it very obvious and clear that they don’t want me here and my parents tell me constantly that they’re gonna kick me out soon. I’ve been saving every penny for a bus ticket to Oregon to stay with my best friend and today I found this picture in my sisters’ room ON DISPLAY. Not hidden. On display. They cut my face out of the picture.
And that… That was just the last straw. I don’t care if anyone reblogs this or whatever, I don’t wanna get popular, I just want people to know that this is not what a family looks like. This is not something people should have to go through.
This is no life.

Wow, I am totally disgusted that people like this exist, and they are spreading that hate to their children. What assholes. If I knew anyone who did this to a member of their family I would have no problem cutting them out of my life.

…[some] may not remember what made Iran-Contra such an extraordinary scandal. The Reagan administration “raised money privately” by selling weapons to a sworn enemy of the United States. Why? Because it wanted to fund an illegal war in Nicaragua. And when I say “illegal war,” I mean that quite literally—Congress told the Reagan administration, in no uncertain terms, that Reagan could not send money to the Contras. Period. The Reagan administration, unrestrained by laws and the Constitution, did so anyway, and much of the president’s national security team ended up under indictment.

more.

Reagan knew everything. However, I bet this Time magazine piece doesn’t get into the juiciest part of Iran-Contra, which is that in the 1980s the CIA put into operation a crack cocaine pipeline to import narcotics from Central and South America and distribute it in US inner cities. This is not a “conspiracy theory”, this is a documented conspiracy, most rigorously researched and reported by Pulitzer-prize winning journalist Gary Webb, whose series in the San Jose Mercury News and subsequent book “Dark Alliance” literally got him killed. To me, that’s the story of Iran-Contra: not that Reagan sold weapons to Iran, but that the US government imported and sold crack to Black America, as part of an arms and drugs trade which funded war in the Third World and which devastated lives and filled prisons in the USA.

I’m old enough to remember this and it’s depressing that everyone forgot.

This conflicts with the neo-con narrative fiction that Reagan was the best president ever…so of course its been filed out of sight and mind. If a democrat had done it though, the outrage would be heard to the high heavens…

Yeah, I often bring this up and the conservatives always have a convenient excuse for it. The simple fact is there is no excuse, Reagan committed treason.
